Welcome to MMO Match Maker!

Our Goal:
The goal of our dating site is to be a completely free dating site that caters specifically to players of MMO's (Massive Multi-player Online). If you've always dreamt about finding that perfect match to play MMO video games with, you've come to the right place.

Who We Want!
Anyone looking for love, romance, or other singles who are interested not only in MMO gaming but also in meeting others who share the same desire. Whether your a total n00b to the MMO world or you've been playing since before time began, you're a welcome member to our site.

Why an MMO Dating Site?
There are well over 15 million MMO players out there and lets be honest, we're not all happily involved in compelling relationships! Right? Even though there are so many of us MMO gamers it's not always easy to meet the right one! You can't exactly walk down the street and bump into the perfect partner who just happens to love the same MMO as you!

Why not just join a regular dating site?
There are several reasons! Why don't we cover them all! First of all some of those other sites can be up to $39.99 a month. Yikes, add that to your MMO bill and you're out 2 large pizzas. MMO Match Maker is totally free! The second reason is because those other sites have tons of members but the chance of finding one who's completely into the same MMO as you is like finding a healer on a Sunday night. Maybe a little harder than that. Our site is specifically for folks who love MMO's. Thirdly, lets face it, some of us spend an awful lot of time playing. Not all the people we date will be cool with that. Wouldn't it be great to find someone who'd sit down and play right by your side?! Well, stop reading this blather and go sign up, all you have to lose is about 5 minutes of time. You have everything to gain!

In closing:
You can meet partners on the streets, on other dating sties, or even at the local gaming store. But at our site you'll find like-minded MMO players who you already have something in common with!

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

This site is still very new so there aren't nearly as many members as we'd all like to have. So tell your friends and get the word out there! Mention it guild chat, group chat, and general chat. The more members we get the closer to finding true love we'll all be

EQ2 Population Statistics
Over on Terra Nova a report has been released about the population statistics that have been released by SOE themselves.

Who plays, how much, and why? Answers.

As some on this list know, my research group has been working on a joint project with Sony Online Entertainment for the last two years. This collaboration has enabled our team to collect virtual world data on--as far as we know--an unprecedented scale. SOE has let us access the full data logs generated and collected by the world Everquest II.

This is one of those "be careful what you ask for" moments in science. We asked for everything, and many terabytes later, found ourselves hosting and analyzing massive data on supercomputers at NCSA. SOE also let us do a large-scale survey of their player base. Although there have been good surveys of virtual world populations done in the past, this is the first that took place within the game engine and with the help of the developer. As a result, it does not have the self-selection issues that the first such surveys have had, and the response rate was impressive.

Tabula Rasa : Feedback Friday
The folks at Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa have released another Feedback Friday, this time talking about their Progressive Weapons System.

We've added several Progressive Weapons into the game, and we'd thought you might like to have some insight on our overall goal with this system.

Overview
Examples: Double barrel fire shotgun, triple barrel fire shotgun

Description: These weapons are more impressive looking versions of existing weapon types, introduced at mid to high levels to allow players further character differentiation. Ideally they will also have some balance tweaks from existing weaponry that may make them more ideal in particular situations, without being overpowered.
Goal: To introduce new and interesting weapons to players in a compelling way.

Lord of the Rings Online : Monster Player vs. Player Overivew
MMORPG.com Lord of the Rings Online Correspondent Malcom Calivar has written this overview to the monster player vs. player system, the alternative to standard PvP, in Turbine's Lord of the Rings Online.

Lord of the Rings: Online offers several innovative features, many of which are designed to attract both casual and dedicated players. Today, I hope to be able to introduce new players to the aspect of Monster Player vs. Player (MPvP): one of LOTRO's most amazing designs. This unique feature is unlike faction play seen in other MMORPGs where players from each faction go up against each other on a normally equal footing; that is, every faction has access to gear that can make them almost identical to a player of the opposite faction. In MPvP combat, the mould is broken by giving each faction immediate advantages and downsides. For one, monster characters are given no equipment slots, meaning they can not have any sort of gear, and must be improved through the use of equipped class/race traits, passive skills, and active skills.advertisement

The monster play feature becomes available when you reach level 10 with any character on the server you're playing on. If you have higher level characters on one server, but wish to engage in MPvP in a server you've never played in before, you will need to reach level 10 before you are able to do so. You will receive an in-game notification the first time you hit level 10 on any given server informing you that you have now unlocked monster play.

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning : Most Retail Pre-Orders for EA... Ever
It was announced today on Business Wire that Mythic Entertainment's Warhammer Online has now sold more retail pre-orders than any other PC title in EA's 26 year history.

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio, today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), will ship tomorrow to retail stores across North America, Europe, and Oceania in preparation for launch on September 18th. WAR set a company record for the most retail pre-orders placed by consumers for a PC title in EA’s 26 year history. Overall, the company has sold 1.5 million units of WAR to retailers.

Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm™ game play that pits the armies of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations. Hundreds of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the open beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.

This is truly a historic day for both EA and Mythic as we prepare to send more copies of WAR to retailers than any other newly launched MMORPG in North America and Europe. Over the course of our beta, over a million gamers throughout the world sent a clear signal to us - they want WAR, and we are more than happy to oblige them,” said Mark Jacobs, co-founder and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. “In three days the real battle begins – we have declared September 18th the ‘Day of Reckoning,’ and WAR will soon be upon us!”

Dark Age of Camelot : Grab Bag
Mythic Entertainment has released another edition of their Friday Grab Bag features.

Q. My GM was experimenting with trying to find a new look for our guild emblem. He accidentally clicked on the wrong one and now he can’t seem to change it back. Can you fix this so we can at least have the old one back?

A. The Lady of the Jewels says no: If the guildmaster is unable to reselect the old guild emblem, it is most likely already taken by another guild in the same cluster. As with player names, when servers are clustered any existing guild emblems that are the same between two servers are grandfathered in, but if one of those emblems is changed it cannot be changed back as it is already flagged as taken elsewhere on the cluster.

EverQuest II : Tradeskills and You, Part One
MMORPG.com EverQuest II Correspondent Daniel Stull has written this introductory article to a continuing series on the tradeskills system in Sony Online Entertainment's EverQuest II.

Tradeskills, in most MMOs, are the backbone for generating money in the game. Players who are successful at creating in-demand items are usually the richest, that is, until there are enough crafters to satisfy demand. But that's Economics 101, or another article. You're reading this for some insight into crafting in Everquest 2.

The tradeskills in Everquest 2 consist of three classes – craftsman, outfitter, and scholar. But first, you must reach tradeskill level 10 to make your choice of class. How does one increase tradeskill level? Pretty simple; according to a guide over at EQ2traders, you must go to a starting trainer to increase your tradeskill level to 2, thus making your character an artisan, and from there you start increasing tradeskill experience points by simply making items. You make items via recipes found in your Book of Knowledge (accessed by pressing the “K” key). Recipes can also be found in the world, can be granted as quest rewards, and even sold on the broker. This sets the ground for your choice of class, as experimentation with what you create will usually set you on your track. I'll break down the classes for you so you'll see that what you make usually makes you:
